Policy
Gift Acceptance Policy
Coffee Uniting People, Inc. accepts gifts that further our mission of inclusive employment in the Tampa Bay region.
Monetary gifts
CUP welcomes one-time and recurring monetary gifts from individuals, families, foundations, and corporations. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes within 30 days of contribution.
In-kind gifts
Gifts of equipment, services, professional time, or supplies are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to decline gifts that are inconsistent with our mission, that would require disproportionate cost to maintain, or that pose legal or reputational risk to the organization.
Planned giving
CUP gratefully accepts planned gifts including bequests, charitable trusts, retirement plan beneficiary designations, and life insurance proceeds. Donors considering a planned gift are encouraged to consult with their financial advisor and contact our executive director.
Restricted gifts
Donors may restrict gifts to a particular program, location, or initiative. Restricted gifts are honored consistent with the donor’s intent. Where a restriction becomes impractical to fulfill, CUP will work in good faith with the donor or their representative to redirect the gift in a manner consistent with our mission.
Anonymity
Donors may request anonymity in any public acknowledgement. Donor information is treated as confidential and is not sold, traded, or shared with third parties.
Questions
